Machine handover marks a milestone for House Merten

The decision to automate ties in with a long tradition of making human work easier, preventing monotonous and heavy tasks and increasing the efficiency of production facilities. The main goal is to maximize production times and minimize non-productive times.

With this approach, we can both optimize the efficiency of our processes to provide our customers with higher precision and shorter lead times, which ultimately translates into faster delivery times for them. These measures enable us to offer our customers more efficient production for larger batch sizes and therefore a cost structure in line with the market.

With the launch of our new milling concept in 2023, we converted, replaced and purchased 11 machine tools in our CNC milling shop. A time-lapse video shows the entire conversion in approx. 4 weeks, which is considered the largest in mechanical production at Merten since 1991. Around 20% of our production was completely redesigned, marking the beginning of a new era of automation.
